The President of our country, expressing gratitude for the invitation and a warm welcome, has noted that today the Uzbek-Tajik relations have reached an unprecedented high level.
«All the decisions we have made are being implemented, during this period a lot has changed in bilateral relations. The numbers speak for themselves. If in 2017 the trade turnover consisted $70 million, then in 2020 full of challenges due to the pandemic, this figure reached $500 million for the first time. We have been preparing for this visit very seriously. The Forum of Regions was successfully held. The specific projects and contracts for the amount of more than $1 billion were signed. If we speak about cultural and humanitarian relations, the days of Uzbek cinema for the first time were successfully held in Tajikistan. Soon the youth of our countries will meet in the Ferghana Valley. In a word, our historical closeness is turning into a reality today», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has sincerely welcomed the President of our state and emphasized the significance of this visit.
«Uzbekistan is our strategic partner and reliable neighbor. We are glad that today the Tajik-Uzbek relations are developing dynamically. The trade and economic ties are increasing. The relations in the cultural and humanitarian field are being enhanced. I would like to highlight the coordination and close interaction of our countries on the regional security issues. I am ready to discuss with you today the state and prospects of our relations, as well as international and regional issues», - said Emomali Rahmon.
It was noted that the number of joint ventures was increased by 8 times and today it exceeds 200. For example, a joint venture on the manufacture of consumer electronics «Artel Avesto Electronics» is successfully operating in Dushanbe. More than 30 such projects have been elaborated for the visit.
It was emphasized that even in challenging conditions of the last year the volumes of cargo transportation and transit grew. The discounts and benefits are provided on a reciprocal basis. In addition, we were among the first to resume the flights between the capital cities.
