On June 10, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, has left on an official visit for Tajikistan.
As was previously reported, during the top-level talks, it is envisaged to discuss the topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. In particular, the aspects of development of bilateral political, trade and economic, investment, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian cooperation will be considered.
A special attention will be paid to identifying the new «growth points» for multifaceted interactions and promoting the specific projects for the development of long-term practical cooperation.
The Leaders will also exchange views on the aspects of international politics and the regional agenda.
On the outcomes of the talks, it is scheduled to sign a Joint Statement of the Presidents, agreements on the establishment of an Uzbek-Tajik investment company, on cooperation in the field of industry and new technologies, a «Road Map» for further development of the cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and others.
In total, it is planned to adopt over 30 documents covering practically all areas of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, in the framework of the visit it is envisaged to conclude the commercial contracts and agreements on cooperation in various sectors of the economy amounting to some $1 billion.
The program of the visit also provides for the participation in joint cultural events in the capital city of Tajikistan, holding meetings with the representatives of the public and visiting a number of industrial facilities in the Sughd Region.
