On June 8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of projects in the sphere of culture and education.
Among them, a modern library, which will be built on the territory of the National Park named after Alisher Navoiy. According to the project, the library will consist of three floors; a green zone will be established on the adjacent territory. On the first floor, the literature on art and information technology will be presented, on the second floor – historical and philological literature, books on religion, on the third floor – the literature on the humanities. The library fund will amount to more than 1.5 million books, including electronic publications and documents in various fields of science.
The President has highlighted the need to apply the most advanced achievements of urban planning during the construction of the library, to take into account all the conditions for visitors.
The projects for the installation of a new monument to Muhammad al-Khorezmiy in the city of Urgench and the construction of the surrounding alley around it were also presented.
In accordance with the Presidential Decree of December 2, 2020, this year will mark the 85th anniversary of the birth of the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Botir Zokirov. In connection with this date, it is scheduled to construct a monument to the artist in the city of Tashkent.
The sketches of these monuments selected by the Academy of Arts through a competition were reviewed at the presentation. The recommendations on the improvement of the sites selected for the monuments were given.
