On June 4, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Maulen Ashimbayev, who is in our country on an official visit.
The President noted with appreciation the current high level of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership, achieved through the regular and effective contacts at the top- level.
In turn, Chairperson of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and extended greetings and best wishes of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the conversation, the issues of further development and enhancing the multifaceted cooperation between our countries have been considered.
It was emphasized that in order to jointly overcome the consequences of the pandemic, active exchanges continue at the level of governments, regions and business. Since the beginning of this year, mutual trade has increased by 40%. Preparation and implementation of large cooperation projects in mechanical engineering, textile industry, transport, tourism and other sectors of the economy are ongoing. The programs in the cultural and humanitarian fields have been resumed.
The importance of active participation of the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the establishment of a promising agenda of the bilateral cooperation, promotion of new initiatives and specific projects, with the wide involvement of regional administrations and business communities, as well as strengthening the interaction and coordination on topical regional and international issues have been highlighted.
