My young friends, brave and courageous heroes of our country!
You have honorably represented our Homeland at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships, held on May 24-31 this year in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and once again vividly demonstrated to what great achievements capable of the brave and ambitious youth of Uzbekistan, full of energy and determination.
It should be noted that behind this remarkable victory there is a huge attention that has been paid in recent years to the development of physical culture and sports in our country.
It is thanks to such high priority that our young people are increasingly interested in various sports, especially boxing.
Undoubtedly, a fundamental role in this is played by the great successes achieved by you in the world arena, worthy successors of the glorious traditions of the Uzbek boxing school.
All of us proudly remember how five years ago at the XXXI Olympics in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, the masters of the leather glove of Uzbekistan, showing high professionalism and unwavering will, get on the podium together with the strongest and leading boxing teams of the world.
It is noteworthy that in recent years you have strengthened your positions even more and continued the victorious march, leaving behind your competitors at the three Asian championships, the Asian Games and the World Championship held in 2019 in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, where you won first place in the team competition.
As you know, in order to increase the fame of Uzbek boxing on a global scale, to further popularize this sport among young people, a special resolution was recently adopted.
It defines the necessary measures for the further development of the Uzbek boxing school, which has almost a century-old history and rich traditions, to strengthen its leading place in world sports, to educate new Asian and World Champions and Olympic Winners among our youth.
In this regard, it should be highlighted that women’s sports, including women’s boxing, are also consistently developing in our country. It is encouraging that our brave girls, worthy successors of the fearless and brave heroines Tumaris and Barchinoy, also actively participated in the Asian Championship, which became victorious for you, they won 1 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.
We are proud that at the recent Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships, the Uzbek girl Nigina Uktamova was awarded the highest rank of the world champion among women for the first time in the history of our country.
I am convinced that this is just the beginning. Undoubtedly, in the future, our girls will surprise and delight the fans of world boxing with their high achievements and victories.
Dear athletes!
Your grandiose victory at the Asian Championship has become a real gift for the greatest, dearest holiday – the 30th anniversary of the Independence of our Homeland.
With your success, you have inspired our people, given them joy and a holiday spirit.
Such achievements are based on the tireless, hard work of experienced coaches and employees of the federation, the great and priceless legacy of sports veterans, the support and blessing of the people and respected parents.
Let the same wonderful victories await you at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo!
I wish you a sound health, strength, energy, conquering new heights on the way to your cherished goals, so that the flag of our country flies proudly over the world sports arenas, glorifying it to the whole world.
I congratulate all of you on a bright and great victory!
