President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ayritom border customs checkpoint in the Termez District.
This checkpoint is the only one on the border between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The trade and economic relations with this country and the South Asian countries as a whole are dynamically developing. In this regard, the customs checkpoint was modernized. The passport and customs control halls have been built.
The President got acquainted with the conditions at the newly created complexes.
The customs checkpoint is equipped with the latest technology within the «Digital Uzbekistan 2030» Program. The Z-Portal inspection complex with the three-side scanning function of vehicles has been installed. Thanks to the minimal radiation level, scanning does not need the driver out of the vehicle. It makes possible to inspect up to 200 vehicles per hour. At other customs checkpoints in the country, the throughput is 20 vehicles per hour. In general, the border customs checkpoint can serve up to 2000 passengers per day.
«It is a good innovation in the current conditions. However, the world changes hourly. It is a high time to the next level. There should be an analytical-research center along with the situation center here. The new proposals are needed to increase economic efficiency and prevent risks», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A unique feature of the Ayritom custom checkpoint is that it is capable of serving trains, vehicles and citizens at a time. To speed up the access control process and create convenience for users, the work is carried out according to the ‘one-stop shop’ (single window) system. The Adani and Rapiscan digital solutions and a video-surveillance system have been installed to ensure security.
