On May 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko. M.Murashko is paying his working visit to our country.
The issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Russian practical cooperation in healthcare field were discussed.
The President emphasized that modern challenges once again showed the importance of developing an effective health care system based on advanced international experience and the introduction of modern technologies. Appreciation for the assistance and the productive interaction in the fight against the pandemic, including the vaccination of the population was expressed.
The issues on implementation of joint programs and specific projects in key areas, including in oncology, hematology, virology, nephrology, transplantology, pharmacology and other fields, were discussed. The introduction of the «e-health» system and the widespread development of telemedicine were in the focus of the discussion.
An agreement was reached to continue close partnership in training highly qualified medical workers, including by the early establishment of the branch of the leading Russian medical university named after N.I. Pirogov in Tashkent, as well as the expansion of exchange programs and advanced training of our specialists on the basis of leading clinics in Russia.
The Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko has highly appreciated the reforms carried out in our country to radically improve the quality of medical services for the population. He also emphasized the readiness of the Russian side to develop a full-scale systematic cooperation with Uzbek partners in the field of healthcare, as well as transfer modern knowledge and best practices in various fields of medicine.
