Dear compatriots!
Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart I congratulate you, all Muslims of our country, all our people on the great and sacred holiday of Ramadan – the Eid al-Fitr, which is widely celebrated throughout the Islamic world.
On these blessed festive days, which are a symbol of humanity, mercy, generosity and gratitude for our people, I express all of you my deep respect and the kindest wishes.
All of us are witnessing how for more than a year our native Uzbekistan, along with other countries of the world, has been overcoming the difficult trials related to a pandemic.
In such uneasy conditions the inherent values of Ramadan – kindness and care about the loves ones, full support of those who are need of help, the joint solution of many vital problems are especially important.
Our hardworking and noble people devoted to the national traditions and customs have spent a sacred month Ramadan in the atmosphere of peace, mutual respect and consent and are celebrating this remarkable holiday with a profound joy, which is filled yet with a deeper meaning.
Today, owing to the large-scale reforms and radical restructuring, our country is being renovated, the dialogue with the people, providing for the rights and interests of a person, including freedom of conscience are lifted to the level of public policy. For the solution of these tasks, the enormous practical measures are being realized.
The significant work in progress should be noted on revival and broad promotion of rich spiritual heritage of the people, improvement of the sacred places related to the names of our great ancestors.
In particular, in the Kashkadarya Region the memorial complex in honor of the outstanding Muslim religious figure Abu Muin Nasafi, in the Namangan region – the bright representative of Sufism Sulton Uvays Karani, in the city of Tashkent – the Suzuk-ota complex were constructed. The set of mosques, madrasah and cult constructions is being built and reconstructed. The construction of the Center of Islamic civilization continues in the capital city with accelerated rates.
All of you know that in the sacred month Ramadan we began yet another big and noble cause – construction in the Samarkand Region in honor of the great scientist, muhaddith (‘Collector of Khadiths’ - narrations about sayings, way of life, customs and manners of Prophet Muhammad) Imam Bukhari of the new memorial complex corresponding to an invaluable role and huge merits of this unique personality in the Muslim world.
For the first time in the national history, the multivolume encyclopedia «Islom» began to be published which has also become an important step in bringing the humanistic essence of the Muslim religion to the public.
It is worth a special mentioning that this spiritual and educational work, the scales of which are constantly extending, is completely in consonance with our practical steps for the purposes of building a new Uzbekistan, a new Renaissance, ensuring prosperity of Homeland, increasing the well-being of the people.
Dear friends!
The current rapidly changing times set all new tasks for us in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, as well as in all other areas.
The growing and increasingly acute competition on the world stage, the emergence of serious threats to the stability of society require all of us to be especially vigilant and sensitive, to pay a priority attention to the upbringing of our children physically healthy and spiritually mature – harmoniously developed personalities.
The religion of Islam is a religion of peace and friendship, consent and unity, knowledge and education. We must never forget this important truth.
To cherish today’s peaceful and creative life, strengthen the atmosphere of interethnic and interfaith tolerance, civil harmony, friendship and mutual respect prevailing in our society is a primary duty for each of us.
The wise words of the famous Uzbek educator Makhmudkhoja Bekhbudiy: «In order to live in this world in full and be equal to other people, along with spiritual values, we need the secular knowledge and sciences» – have not lost their relevance up until now.
Therefore, along with glorification of our spiritual moral principles and national originality we have to pay a special attention to the development of achievements of modern science, information technologies, demanded by life, bring up the younger generation in the spirit of universal values.
I am confident that our distinguished Ulemah and Imam-Khatibs (the religious leaders), parents, teachers and mentors, veterans, the general public – all of them together, will actively and effectively work in this direction.
Dear compatriots!
In these blessed and radiant days, I once again cordially congratulate you on the sacred holiday of Ramadan – the Eid al-Fitr.
I also sincerely congratulate all Muslims of the countries in the near and far abroad, and wish them peace, well-being and prosperity.
Let all kind wishes of our people, which made in the days of sacred Ramadan, come true!
Let Almighty God always preserve our Homeland, our multinational people!
Happy holiday of Ramadan – the Eid al-Fitr!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
