On May 7, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the Victory Day and the upcoming holy holiday of Eid al-Fitr, and sincerely wished the two fraternal peoples peace, well-being and prosperity.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the topical issues of the Uzbek-Kazakh multifaceted cooperation, and exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia.
The positive dynamics of cooperation, which is ensured thanks to the active and productive bilateral contacts at different levels, was emphasized with satisfaction.
Since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover has increased by 28%. Last month, the construction of the International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation in the border region was started.
The joint preparation and implementation of the priority investment and infrastructure projects are underway, including the construction of the Uchkuduk-Kyzylorda road and railway, as well as the Turkestan-Tashkent high-speed railway.
The regions of the two countries work closely together, important programs in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchange are ongoing.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Elbasy highlighted the importance of further building up the full-scale and mutually beneficial cooperation in order to strengthen the ties of centuries-long friendship, good-neighborliness, trust and partnership between the brotherly peoples and countries.
