On May 1, a telephone conversation was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

Further to the contacts held the day before, the Leaders of the two countries discussed the development of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

It was noted with profound satisfaction that through timely and coordinated efforts, it was possible to ensure the normalization of the situation along the sector of the state border and prevent its escalation.

The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan once again reaffirmed their strong commitment to jointly resolve all existing issues in the Central Asian region through a constructive and trustworthy dialogue in order to strengthen the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and partnerships between the brotherly countries and people.
