The people of Uzbekistan have suffered a heavy loss.

On April 24, at the age of 82, a conspicuous statesman and public figure, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (the National Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, chairman of the Samarkand Region Department of the Nuroniy Fund, Hero of Uzbekistan, Khasan Norbekovich Normurodov passed away.

Khasan Normurodov was born on November 16, 1939 in the Kattakurgan District of the Samarkand Region. After graduating from high school, he was educated at the Kattakurgan Pedagogical School and the Samarkand State University.

Kh.Normurodov began his career as a teacher of his native language and literature in a secondary school, and then he worked in various cities and districts of the Samarkand region for many years.

In particular, he served effectively in leadership positions in the city of Kattakurgan, Jambay, Narpay districts, as well as a secretary of the Samarkand Regional Party Committee.

In 1988-1995, he worked as the Head of the Department of Public Education of Samarkand Region, in 1995-2003 - the Chairman of the Samarkand Region Council of the Trade Union Workers of Culture, Education and Science.

Since 2003, he selflessly served as the Chairman of the Samarkand Regional Department of the Nuroniy Fund, since 2020 - as the Deputy Head of the Samarkand Regional Department for Support of the Makhalla and Family.

Khasan Norbekovich Normurodov was a great man who, during his more than 60 years of professional life, through his immense leadership skills, rich knowledge and experience, exemplary spiritual qualities, boundless love and devotion to the Motherland, rightfully took a deep place in the heart of our multinational people.

Under his direct leadership, the large-scale work was carried out on the socio-economic development and improvement of various districts of the Samarkand Region, improving the living standards of the population and the effectiveness of the education system.

Khasan Norbekovich Normurodov, as a truly national Aqsaqal (the Elderly), has always lived with the concerns of people. He has wholeheartedly, sparing no effort, served the cause of protecting the rights and interests of the older generation, women, creating decent conditions for them, educating the young people in the spirit of national and universal values, ensuring their bright future.

As a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he made a significant contribution to strengthening our independence, the development of the domestic parliamentary system, the development and implementation of important laws necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.

Khassan Norbekovich Normurodov’s tremendous merits before the state and people were adequately appreciated. He was awarded the orders of «Dustlik» (‘Friendship’), «Mekhnat Shukhrati» (‘Fame of the Labor’), «El-Yurt Khurmati» (‘Respect of People and the Motherland’). He was awarded the high title of Hero of Uzbekistan.

The blessed memory of the great son of our people, a distinguished statesman and public figure, a sincere and selfless person Khasan Norbekovich Normurodov will forever remain in our hearts.
