During a trip to the Samarkand Region, the President visited the grave of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

In honor of the deceased, the surahs (the holy chapters) from the Qur’an were recited.

Commemorating the good deeds of the deceased, highly honoring their memory are the sacred values ​inherent in our people. In a conversation with the religious figures, the best human qualities of Islam Karimov were noted.

- Islam-aka was a modest person. This mausoleum is to match his image. We have put our heart in this place. We are continue the work started by the First President. May the Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
