The President got acquainted with the activities of the rice processing plant built by the TST Cluster in the Kuyichirchik District of the Tashkent Region.
The «TST Rice» complex has a complete production chain for growing and deep processing of rice. Last year, the area of more than 2,600 hectares was sown with rice varieties «Lazour», «Iskandar», «Mustakillik» and «Nukus».
It should be noted that in the past, the rice growers could not generate a decent income due to their scattered activities. There were many problems, especially in the processing of rice.
With the adoption of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 2, 2021 «On measures for further development of rice cultivation», the quality changes began to take place in this branch with the efficiency to have increased.
Thanks to a project for more than 27 billion Uzbek soums, a modern «TCT Rice» complex has been built on the 6 hectares area that was previously an abandoned territory. The complex includes a threshing floor, 2 closed warehouses with a total capacity of 15 thousand tons, a rice cleaning and drying workshop and a processing workshop.
The rice cleaning and drying workshop is equipped with four lines, each of which allows drying 120 tons of rice per shift. Other legumes can also be peeled and dried here. Another notable aspect is that this workshop is a coal-fired.
The rice processing plant is equipped by the Turkish company «Yashar Makina» that is used in the production of premium rice products. The smart technology sorts the rice not only by size, but also by color.
Currently, the plant has a processing capacity of 40 thousand tons per year. The plant’s capacity will double by launching the second stage.
There is also a modern laboratory which constantly monitors the moisture content of the rice received by the plant, the drying and processing processes, as well as the quality indicators of rice products.
This year, the rice cluster operating on a field-to-table basis, plans to increase yields to 60 centners per hectare and export rice for at least $100,000.
The TCT Rice employs 365 people and the entire cluster employs 8,750 people.
«Here we are talking about human rights. One of the most important rights is the right to work. All our efforts are aimed at this. If we provide employment for people, if we increase per capita income, if a purchasing power increases, all other rights will be respected by itself. Therefore, we want to turn the Tashkent Region into a region with minimal unemployment. The region has all conditions for this», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The main focus is on increasing exports and mastering new markets. In particular, next year it is planned to increase the export of rice to $500 thousand. In addition, within the four-stage project of the TST Cluster for 2021-2023, it is envisaged to export finished textile and clothing products for $ 114 million.
The presentation for agriculture and textiles development projects in the region was also held.
