On March 16, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the president of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov.

At the meeting, Vagit Alekperov reported in detail to the President on the implementation of priority investment and socially significant projects in Uzbekistan with the participation of the leading oil and gas company of Russia.

It should be noted that today LUKOIL is one of the largest investors in the economy of Uzbekistan with $10 billion investments volume.

The Kandym gas processing plant operates with a processing capacity of over 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The development of the Khauzak and Shady fields, as well as the South-West Gissar is underway. The important humanitarian programs are being implemented.

During the conversation, a special attention was paid to the issues of addressing the pandemic impact and implementing the joint projects.

An agreement was reached on the creation of an interdepartmental working group and the adoption of a «Road Map» to increase the efficiency of the projects and expand the strategic cooperation with LUKOIL.
