On March 3, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of this country, Suhail al-Mazroui.
Topical issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Emirates multifaceted cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
The head of our state noted with satisfaction the active efforts of both sides to implement the high-level agreements, primarily in the trade, economic, investment and financial spheres. Sincere gratitude was expressed for the assistance provided by the Government of the Emirates in overcoming the consequences of the pandemic in Uzbekistan.
In turn, Minister Suhail al-Mazroui conveyed greetings and best wishes to the leader of our country on behalf of the President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed al-Nahyan and the Prime Minister of the country, Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum. He also thanked for the comprehensive support of the Emirati investors’ activities in the republic.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the promotion of joint projects with the attraction of private investment, among which is the agro-industrial sector, including the cultivation and processing of agricultural products with subsequent delivery to the Emirate market and to third countries.
An agreement was reached to continue the active preparation and practical implementation of large projects in the field of alternative energy, on modernization of energy and other important infrastructure facilities, building modern hotel complexes, as well as increasing the investment portfolio in the framework of new business initiatives and the implementation of financial and technical assistance programs.
In addition, the importance of expanding effective interaction in the field of education and national management training involving high-profile organizations of the United Arab Emirates was highlighted.
