On March 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received his Adviser on Economic Development, Good Governance and International Cooperation – Suma Chakrabarti.

The meeting discussed the proposals and recommendations of the Adviser Chakrabarti on the preparation of a long-term strategy for the economic reforms in Uzbekistan, improvement the system of public administration and increase of the mutually beneficial relations between our country and foreign partners.

The Head of our State noted the need to continue the thorough joint preparation and subsequent practical implementation of the «Road Map» and other important conceptual documents in the priority areas.

Special attention was given to the further improvement of investment climate and business environment, transformation of state-owned enterprises, and training of highly qualified personnel.

It should be reminded that prior to the appointment of Suma Chakrabarti as an Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, he served as the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for eight years.
