On February 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on construction projects that will be implemented in Tashkent region.
Among the projects, there is creation of a park with an area of 155 hectares in the Kibray District in Tashkent Region, next to the Tashkent-Vostochny airfield. During the development of the project, the experience of well-known parks in megacities, their landscape and infrastructure concepts were used. This place is conceived as an arboretum with unique species of trees, shrubs, flowers and recreation areas. We expect the park to have a significant impact on improving the environment in the capital area.
We plan to build an Olympic village near the park. As it is known, Tashkent was chosen as the venue for the Asian Youth Games in 2025 by the decision of the Olympic Council of Asia. Representatives of 45 countries of the continent will compete in games in about 20 sports.
Uzbekistan is hosting this prestigious international competition for the first time. The head of state pointed out that this is a sign of great credibility of our country and it is necessary to start thorough preparations for the games.
For this purpose, a project for the construction of an Olympic village on an area of 160 hectares was developed. It is scheduled to improve more than 5 kilometers of the embankment of the Chirchik River and create the necessary conditions for rowing competitions. It is planned to create a park covering 270 hectares along the rowing canal.
In addition, 2 universities, a clinic, an expo center, shopping and entertainment facilities will be located on the adjacent territory.
The President gave instructions on finalizing projects in terms of quality and convenience, with use of advanced concepts and construction technologies.
