On February 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on the development of tourism potential and pilgrimage tourism in Samarkand.

On February 9, the head of state signed a decree «On measures for the further development of internal and pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan». The document defines the tasks of diversifying tourist products and services, expanding and improving the quality of transport services, as well as creating favorable conditions for tourists.

Samarkand has a huge tourist potential. For its implementation, a comprehensive work on the development of tourist infrastructure is being carried out in the region.

In particular, a tourist complex is being created in the Samarkand District, which will include 8 modern hotels, large conference hall, restaurants, parks and alleys.

The streets connecting this tourist center with the international airport and the railway station of Samarkand, the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari, Registan Square and other tourist attractions are being renovated.

10 new hotels are being built for the development of Samarkand tourism potential.

The head of state got acquainted with the presentation and gave instructions on the development of transport, road and communication infrastructure, improvement of the city of Samarkand, expansion of trade services aa well as general service.
