At the session of the Ferghana Regional Kengash (Council) of the People’s Deputies the tasks on employment and improvement of living conditions of the population were defined.
For urban and regional development in the context of makhallas, the management offices with highly qualified employees of the economic complex will be created at each of the 76 regional sectors. They will study the local conditions, form and help in the implementation of projects together with the bank employees assigned to a makhalla. If necessary, the unemployed population, including youth and women, will be trained in professions.
It was noted that 949 investment projects worth 17 trillion soums will be implemented in the Fergana Region in 2021-2022. The chemical, textile, leather and footwear industries, construction materials industry and the electrical industry were identified as drivers.
Particularly, 3 projects worth $537 million and 14 projects worth $154 million will be implemented in the Ferganaazot Joint Stock Company and the textile sector, respectively.
Due to limited land resources in the region, the development of 33 thousand hectares of the steppe, pasture and hilly lands is planned. 110 billion soums out of 350 billion soums allocated for these purposes will be subsidized.
The measures for the development of the social sphere and infrastructure have been identified. It was noted that this year the construction of 105 multi-storey buildings in 11 locations of the region is planned. The task was set to repair 503 kilometers of roads for 312 billion soums from centralized sources.
An instruction was given to effectively use the potential of the newly created Ferghana Medical Institute of Public Health, to conduct targeted medical check-up and consultations, to organize 16 family medical centers and family polyclinics.
The President focused on the issues of youth and women’s employment.
The task was set to organize youth zones of industry and business in 19 districts and cities of the Fergana Region, to train more than 8 thousand unemployed in entrepreneurship and professions in the framework of the «Youth:1+1» project this year. The importance of assisting women in launching their own business and making a down-payment for purchasing a house, as well as preventing divorce was emphasized.
