On February 4, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Fergana Region.
The trip program is very busy and full of events. The first destination was the viticulture cooperation «Faizli Boglar Sari» in the Altyaryk District.
The local people are famous for their high proficiency in agriculture and gardening. Being engaged in this activity, they are able to ensure the welfare of both their own and their neighbors’. However, despite the low yield compared to other crops, cotton and wheat were grown in large quantities in this district. The policy of the President aimed at the structural changes in agriculture and the cultivation of crops, which are demanded by the market, opened up great opportunities for farmers and young people.
In the cooperative visited by the President, 20 centners of cotton and 25 centners of grain were previously grown on 6 hectares. Last year, a vineyard was planted here and grape varieties as «Husaini», «Kelin Barmak» and «Rizamat» were planted. The tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, peppers and other vegetables are grown in-between the rows. A drip irrigation system was introduced.
The most important thing is that the cooperative has allocated land to 51 young people, including migrant workers who have returned from abroad, who can grow vegetables in a greenhouse and harvest up to four crops a year.
“Every young man is as dear to me as to his parents”, -said Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a conversation with them. – “At the moment, this is one of the great opportunities for the rapid employment of youth. A person, who finds his place in life, gains self-confidence, begins to strive for more. If today we create a source of income for young people, teach them how to work, help them get rolling, then in 2-3 years they will not depend on anyone - they will have their bank account, they will get a house, live well, bring up their children well”.
The President advised young people to study more and improve their activities.
“Life is a struggle, competition. Who will be strong in this fight? The one who is smart, educated, hardworking. Today, young people should feel the attention of our state, read a lot, increase their knowledge and continue to develop”, - said the President.
The instructions were given on the employment of 200 thousand young people in the Ferghana Region through the allocation of land plots to them.
The total area of the «Faizli Boglar Sari» viticulture cooperative is about 130 hectares. Of these, 40 hectares are vineyards, 90 hectares are intensive orchards. There is a freezing warehouse with a capacity of 2 thousand tons, cargo equipment. Most of the grown products is planned to be exported.
There was also a presentation of agricultural projects to be implemented in the Fergana Region.
