President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with hokims and heads of sectors of the capital’s districts, Yunusabad district mahalla chairpersons and youth.

The system of work in the context of mahallas is being introduced in all districts of Tashkent. For these purposes, a special working group has studied the level of development, existing problems and opportunities in 63 mahallas of Yunusabad district.

Information on this was presented at the meeting by Deputy Prime Ministers – the Minister for Investments and Foreign Trade and the Minister for Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.

A comprehensive development program for the Yunusabad district for 2021-2022 has been developed. In the sphere of promotion of industry and services, 141 large and medium investment projects worth 14.4 trillion soums were formed. They provide for mastering direct foreign investments in the amount of $ 936 million and creating about 8 thousand new jobs.

In order to attract the unemployed to entrepreneurship, the Employment Promotion Fund will allocate 1 billion soums of subsidies to provide employment for 260 residents of the district.

More than 600 unemployed will be trained by the order of labor authorities.

Meeting participants also developed measures for the development of infrastructure. In particular, 75 kilometers of heating networks and 108 kilometers of power transmission lines, 101 transformers will be repaired this year. Major overhaul will be carried out on 86 roads.

At the meeting, chairpersons of mahallas voiced proposals to address standing issues and improve conditions on the ground, and create new enterprises. The head of state gave relevant instructions to responsible officials.
