On December 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked over the phone with the First President of Kazakhstan – the Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The parties to the conversation exchanged congratulations on the approaching New Year, wished each other and the friendly peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan wellbeing and prosperity.

In light of mounting global challenges and threats, intricate situation in the world economy, it was noted with deep satisfaction, relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between our two countries continued to advance steadily, filled with qualitatively new substance.

The sides supported one another in combating the pandemic. Active bilateral contacts continued, as did the successful implementation of joint cooperation projects across sectors of the economy. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges as well as those among the regions of the two countries expanded.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev also deliberated on vital issues in the international agenda. They stressed the importance of holding the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States in the coming year.

The telephone conversation between the President of Uzbekistan and the Elbasy took place in a traditionally confidential and friendly spirit.
