On December 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke by phone with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Greeting each other cordially, the two leaders exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the coming new year 2021. They expressed sincere wishes of peace, wellbeing and prosperity for our friendly peoples.
Amid the complicated environment of the global spread of coronavirus, our countries, it was noted with deep satisfaction, have provided each other with comprehensive assistance and practical aid in countering the pandemic, overcoming the consequences of the global economic and epidemiological crisis. Currently, the possibilities of cooperation for the production of the Russian vaccine in Uzbekistan are under consideration.
Despite the unfolding situation and difficulties, active exchanges have continued at all levels. A noticeable growth has been achieved in bilateral trade, and the two sides launched a number of major joint projects in industrial as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The Russian Federation has provided significant support to Uzbekistan’s first successful chairmanship in the CIS, as well as to the granting of our country observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union.
During the telephone conversation, the Presidents confirmed their determination to continue with joint efforts to cement the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership, friendship and alliance relations.
Agreement was reached on the thorough preparation of bilateral and multilateral events included in the next year’s schedule.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on pressing issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
The phone talk took place in a traditionally warm, open and friendly spirit.
