Continuing his working trip to Khorezm region, the head of our state got acquainted with the activities of the limited liability company Yantex Invest in the Yangiarik district.
This enterprise is an apparent product of the economic policy aimed at the efficient use of empty buildings, their privatization and the development of entrepreneurship. The facility was abandoned for many years. It acquired a modern look after Asakabank’s investment of over $ 16 million and the installation of equipment from China, South Korea and Italy.
Today, the manufacture of fabrics and bedding is established here. More than 200 jobs have been created.
The enterprise is capable of producing 12 million running meters of fabric and 600 thousand sets of bedding a year, as well as exporting goods for $ 6 million.
The President inquired into the technological process at the new company.
Efforts are currently underway to boost production volumes and open a cloth dyeing factory in the city of Urgench. Thus, at the second stage, the enterprise will be dyeing, packaging and exporting fabrics to Russia and other countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also discussed issues of creating a new system of work in the context of mahallas. The scheme envisages in particular the assignment of executives of the economic complex at the district level to mahallas and the resolution of standing problems.
“We elect mahalla chairpersons, and demand a lot from them,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. “But there is no unambiguous answer to the question as to what exactly the heads of local government bodies are busy with. Thus we will deliver a system whereby the material wellbeing of local government officials will depend on the people’s satisfaction with their work. Executives in charge of taxes, finance, employment, investment, entrepreneurship and other issues will work in mahallas. And chairpersons of the latter will request them to address the problems in the area. This is the basis for reforms in the grassroots level. People need to feel it.”
Responsible officials were instructed to introduce this system, train the mahalla chairmen and women at the Academy of Public Administration under the President.
