President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is touring around Tashkent today on a working trip.
The first stop has been the Technopark in Yashnabad district. Hi-tech facilities were launched here within a brief span of time. The innovation park itself was established in accordance with a 1 May 2019 presidential decree on measures to further enhance industrial cooperation and production of goods in demand.
Back in 2010, when the Tashkent Aviation Plant was still operational, products worth 50 million US dollars were manufactured here, and exports reached $30 million. In contrast, once all projects are launched in the Technopark, it is expected to produce goods worth $520 million in 2021, and export them in the amount reaching $105 million.
In addition, whereas the older venture here used to employ 3 thousand people, Technopark plans to secure jobs for 6.7 thousand citizens. The volume of production is anticipated to multiply tenfold, exports to grow 3.5 times, while the number of jobs – 1.7 times.
Technopark comprises 7 blocks. 17 projects worth 365 million dollars are spearheaded here.
In February this year, a plant for electronic gas meters was put into operation, while in August, the one for the production of household refrigerators kicked off. Other projects are being delivered one after another.
The President examined new facilities for manufacturing elevators and escalators, water pumps, industrial air conditioners and cooling systems, molds.
At the lift assembly plant, the head of state inquired about the extent of product localization. This figure is currently at 32 percent.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that one of the major problems in multi-storey buildings in Tashkent and other cities across Uzbekistan is the deterioration of elevator equipment. To address this issue, the head of our state instructed the executives to cut production costs by enhancing localization, replace old lifts with new ones and provide high-quality service. The importance of training specialists in the operation of modern elevators was emphasized.
The President watched the work of young specialists at a mill for the production of molds.
“Such enterprises solve a number of critical social and economic issues. They offer jobs for the population, especially young people. Our most important achievement thus far is that a new generation of homegrown specialists capable of employing high technologies is growing up in the manufacturing industry,” the head of our state pointed out while touring the factory.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested that advanced specialists be promoted more actively to ensure the quality of goods, and instructed to set up a training center to foster youths to work at industrial enterprises.
Next year, 9 enterprises will be launched at the Technopark for the production of such popular goods as refrigerated display cases, heating radiators, kitchen appliances, fittings and accessories, copper pipes, insulation materials.
