While in Tashkent’s Bektemir region, the head of our state examined specialized vehicles projected for production in Uzbekistan.

During Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Germany in January 2019, Uzavtosanoat and Volkswagen signed a cooperation agreement. The deal provides for the launch of production of Volkswagen Caddy minivans in 3 modifications at the Jizzakh Automobile Plant. This seven-seater car is quite suitable for various needs and can be converted. Isuzu platform will also be used for these purposes.

Uzbekistan produces cars and trucks. The models presented today are intended to fill the void segment of special purpose vehicles. The demand for them is also high in neighboring countries.

In this regard, prototypes of special vehicles were prepared on the chassis developed by Volkswagen, Škoda and Isuzu.

While enquiring into the capacities of models on show, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of developing a new sector to replace imports and increase exports, and also gave some directives on similar matters to executives in charge.

The presented cars are reported to be assembled starting from the 4th quarter of this year at the Jizzakh Automobile Plant. The full production cycle is due to be mastered in 2022.
