Our nation has suffered a heavy loss.
An outstanding statesman and public figure, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan – Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Hero of Uzbekistan Musa Tazhetdinovich Erniyazov passed away on July 31, at the age of 73.
Musa Erniyazov was born on December 20, 1947, in the Kegeili district of Karakalpakstan. In 1971, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Engineers of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization, in 1986 – from the Higher Party School in Tashkent.
Erniyazov began his career as a civil engineer, then worked as a senior assistant, head of department, administrative manager in the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan.
In 1983-1989, he fruitfully serves as Minister of Housing and Public Utility Services of Karakalpakstan, as Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers – Chairman of the State Committee for State Property Management and Support of Entrepreneurship, as hokim of Chimbai district.
Since 2002, Erniyazov served as Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan – Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Musa Tazhetdinovich Erniyazov was an outstanding person who, for his almost 50 years of service, rightfully earned the hearts of our people with his leadership abilities, extensive knowledge and experience, moral qualities, great love and devotion to our Motherland.
Under his direct leadership, large-scale creative work has been undertaken toward the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan, improvement of the environmental situation in the Aral Sea region, and elevation of living standards.
All the great changes that have taken place in recent years in Karakalpakstan are inextricably linked with the name and practical activities of Musa Erniyazov.
As the true leader of the Karakalpak people, he has always lived by their hopes and concerns. Especially selflessly he served to improve the living and working conditions of the senior generation, women and youth, to secure a worthwhile future for them.
Musa Tazhetdinovich Erniyazov, as Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Senate, made a great input into the consolidation of our country’s independence and the development of parliamentarianism, actively worked on the elaboration and implementation of laws instrumental in socio-economic advancement.
Musa Erniyazov’s merits before the nation were appreciated accordingly. Thus, he was awarded the orders Mehnat Shuhrati (Glory of Service) and Fidokorona Khizmatlari Uchun (For Selfless Service), as well as such honorable titles as Honored Builder of Uzbekistan and Hero of Uzbekistan.
The memory of the outstanding son of our people, a prominent state and public figure, a sincere and selfless person Musa Tazhetdinovich Erniyazov will forever remain in our hearts.
