President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been presented reports on the efforts undertaken to counter the coronavirus pandemic in the city of Tashkent, to boost their effectiveness, broaden the coverage of the population with high-quality and timely healthcare.
The head of our state keeps the epidemiological situation under constant control. Almost every meeting is devoted to this problem. In particular, at a video conference on July 15, the President slammed the state of affairs in combating the disease in Tashkent and the Tashkent region, gave instructions to create conditions for timely and correct treatment of those infected.
Consequently, extensive organizational work is in progress in the capital city. Hence, at the Uzexpocenter pavilions, the Gymnastics Palace, the Yoshlik sports complex in the Yunusabad district and other venues, conditions are created for examining persons suspected of coronavirus and for organizing treatment. They are being outfitted in accordance with the established requirements, provided with essential medical equipment.
To provide assistance to patients, including those diagnosed with pneumonia, 10 special clinics have been set up. They are working round-the-clock to advise and treat citizens.
The presentation-discussion was attended by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, heads of central institutions, ministries and departments, representatives of other organizations actively involved in ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety in the country.
The President stressed the need to support the national healthcare system faced by the pandemic, including by recruiting medical personnel to the newly created distribution centers and new clinics based on sports complexes in the capital, by attracting military servicemen and women as well as specialists of military medical institutions to the overall efforts directed at organizing the effective treatment of those infected with COVID-19.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev especially emphasized the importance of timely daily remuneration for the work of engaged medical workers per shift, their provision with the necessary personal protective equipment, food and accommodation.
Based on discussions at the presentation, responsible executives were given specific instructions and recommendations on the due arrangement of work on this front.
