President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the multidisciplinary NANO Medical Clinic in the Almazar district of Tashkent.
This modern health center has become reality thanks to the policy directed at promoting private sector in healthcare. Opened in December last year, the therapeutic building has a consultation office, a hospital for 35 beds, departments of nuclear medicine, hemodialysis and therapy, as well as a laboratory.
The President inquired into the project design in accordance with which the clinic was built on the basis of foreign experience. Noting that every square meter was rationally used in it and that all circumstances were taken into account, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to study this practice when designing other similar facilities.
The clinic offers conservative treatment in the field of endocrinology, neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology, urology, otorhinolaryngology, physiotherapy, and also diagnostic services such as digital radiography, computed tomography, densitometry. 15 highest-degree doctors work here.
It is worth noting that this institution practices nuclear medicine and interventional radiology based on a radionuclide study. The technology is effectively used to detect and treat various endocrine and oncology diseases. Work with it is organized under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In addition, cooperation has been established with leading medical centers in Germany, Turkey and Russia.
The clinic also successfully applies the method for determining the mineral density of bone tissue.
Today, a three-story surgery building is being erected as part of the second phase of the project. This will provide access to world-class medical services and create 60 new jobs.
Here, the head of state was informed about the work carried out in the private healthcare sector.
Resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures for the further development of the private sector in the healthcare sector, signed 1 April 2017, and on delivering additional conditions for the further development of private medical organizations, inked 29 December the same year, have helped enhance opportunities in this area.
For example, the number of areas that private clinics can practice has been increased from 50 to 129. Moreover, they are granted tax and customs benefits through to 1 January 2022.
As a result, the number of private medical institutions in Uzbekistan reached 3,454 in the year 2017, and as of June 1 this year, it was 5,612. More than 11 thousand jobs have been created.
The President urged officials and specialists of the sphere to help set up and promote modern clinics in provinces, thereby increasing competition in the field of medical services, which will serve to improve their quality and perk up public health.
