On December 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States in St. Petersburg, Russia.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was met by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
During a conversation, the leaders of the two countries discussed the prospects of bilateral relations and regional cooperation as well as international affairs.
The CIS informal summit was attended also by leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
Pressing issues of multilateral cooperation were considered, including priority directions of Uzbekistan’s presidency in the Commonwealth in 2020.
Completing his visit to Russia thus, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for Tashkent.
