President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met today with the chairman (mayor) of Tajikistan’s capital city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali.

Welcoming the guest, the head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the dynamic development of the Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship and good neighborliness in recent years.

It was emphasized that thanks to the political will of the leaders of our two fraternal countries, the bilateral multifaceted cooperation has seen a qualitative breakthrough, and strategic partnership has been secured between our nations.

Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, thanking the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the reception, conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

During the conversation, practical aspects in the enhancement of mutually advantageous interaction between the capitals of the two countries, Tashkent and Dushanbe, were discussed.

Particular emphasis was placed on the establishment of a regular dialogue in such areas as exchange of practice in urban development and infrastructure advancement, implementation of joint projects and cultural and humanitarian cooperation programs envisaged by the “roadmap”.
