At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Mausoleum of Abu Isa Termizi in Surkhandarya region’s Sherabad district was improved two years ago. And on 14 February 2017, the head of state signed a decree to establish the Imam Termizi International Research Center.

In accordance with this document, the Research Center was built in Termez. It seeks to promote profound studies of Islamic sciences, including hadithes, as well as the legacy of Isa Termizi and other scholars from Termez. The research fellows here will write textbooks and teaching aids, periodicals, academic and practical recommendations for use in the system of religious education and spiritual and moral enlightenment works.

Today, the President visited the Center and got familiar with the conditions created in it. Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave recommendations on an in-depth study of the life and works of the great hadith collector Imam Termizi, on bringing his legacy to the younger generation, publishing books in a language accessible to the general reader. The necessity of delivering decent conditions for scientific research at the center, enhancement of the participation of scholars in international academic conferences is pointed out.
