Today, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) Baghdad Amreyev, who arrived in our country to participate in the session of the Business Council and the Investment Forum of Turkic-Speaking Countries.
The head of our state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with approval the dynamically advancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Turkic Council.
On 14 September 2019, the country ratified the 3 October 2009 Nakhichevan Pact on the establishment of the organization, and is going to attend its seventh summit as a full-fledged member, due October 15 in Baku.
Uzbekistan and the countries of the Turkic Council, it was noted, have historically been tied together not only by cultural, linguistic, spiritual community, but also with the traditionally friendly and mutually advantageous relations.
At the meeting, the potential of the Turkic Council as an effective regional institution conducive for the development of practical interaction, primarily in such pressing areas as trade, investment, innovation, transport, tourism, in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchange, received high appreciation.
Baghdad Amreyev expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and sincerely congratulated on the upcoming accession of our country to the Council.
It was stressed that Uzbekistan’s joining will contribute to the further enhancement of productive multilateral cooperation within the organization.
The Secretary General of the Turkic Council praised the ongoing large-scale transformation in Uzbekistan in the field of public administration, liberalization of the economy, improvement of the business environment and investment climate.
The guest noted in particular the progress of Uzbekistan in the promotion of long-term and mutually beneficial relations with foreign partners, primarily the consolidation of friendship and good neighborliness with Central Asian nations.
The distinguished diplomat informed the head of our state about the preparations for the forthcoming summit of the Turkic Council and assured that he would continue to contribute in every way possible to the development of fruitful relations between the Council and Uzbekistan.
