The main tasks of foreign political and foreign economic activity for the coming years have been determined.
Owing to the policy of openness and trust pursued by Uzbekistan, as it was stressed at the meeting, a completely new political atmosphere of good neighborliness and mutual understanding has formed in Central Asia. Strategic partnership has been established with all countries of the region.
In addition, as a result of talks at the highest level, cooperation has been significantly consolidated with countries with which traditionally friendly relations have been established, including Russia, China, the United States, South Korea, Turkey, Germany, France, and Asian nations.
Steady growth in trade with major foreign economic partners was noted with satisfaction, as was the successful implementation of cooperation projects in Central Asia, and the intensification of interaction among regions of our countries.
The need was emphasized for ensuring tight oversight, including by the parliament, over the timely and high-quality realization of the agreements reached in the trade, economic and investment spheres.
Special attention was paid to Uzbekistan’s participation in the activities of prominent international organizations such as the UN, SCO, CIS, OIC, and objectives were identified to promote the initiatives of our country within these institutions.
The meeting also facilitated critical evaluation of the work undertaken and designation of specific instructions to the heads of responsible ministries and agencies to build up mutually advantageous dialogue with partner nations as well as secure national interests in the framework of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
