On August 11, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the phone.
The heads of state warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkey on the bright holiday of Eid al-Adha and exchanged sincere wishes.
The Presidents noted with great satisfaction that the relations of friendship, mutual respect and trust between our two nations, built on the principles of strategic partnership, have been intensively developing in recent years in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields.
During the conversation Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan highly appreciated the outcomes of the first meeting of the Strategic Planning Group chaired by foreign affairs ministers, as well as the participation of Uzbek delegation as an honored guest in the eleventh conference of Turkish ambassadors, which took place on 5-6 August in Ankara.
The leaders especially noted the importance of thorough preparation for the first session of the Uzbek-Turkish Top-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, to be chaired by the two Presidents.
The parties reaffirmed the shared desire and commitment to the full-scale implementation of the signed agreements and projects, of the mutually beneficial deals reached, to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
At the conversation that took place in a friendly and sincere spirit, the two sides exchanged views on pressing issues in the international and regional agendas, and discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events.
