On July 24, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev.
Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, cordially greeting the head of our state on the latter’s birthday, noted especially his great contribution to the consolidation of friendship, good-neighborliness and partnership between the two fraternal nations.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed prospects for the enhancement of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
The heads of state spoke in favor of further increasing the volume of bilateral trade, strengthening industrial cooperation, effectively using the transit potential and extensive opportunities for interaction among the regions of the two countries.
In this respect, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev noted with satisfaction the launch of the highway Beineu-Akjigit-Uzbek Border, whose opening ceremony last week was attended by government delegations of our countries.
In addition, important attention was paid to the successful organization of joint cultural and humanitarian activities in the framework of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.
