On July 18, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Khavast district of Syrdarya region.
This is the second trip of the head of our state to this district in the current year. During his stopover on February 19, the President had given instructions to renovate the Khavast downtown.
Thus, 30 five-storey houses for 760 apartments are being built, of which 600 are at an affordable price.
New buildings of local authorities and administrations, educational and cultural institutions, trade and services points are also being erected in the district center.
New homes with modern infrastructure are designed to replace damp and dilapidated housing as well as improve living conditions and quality of life in the area.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev inquired into the prices and quality of materials used in construction. He noted the need to increase the level of localization and further reduce the cost of building materials. The President urged for careful planning of the province development, taking into account the trends in urbanization, in laying out communication networks, in population employment and effective use of vacant lands.
The head of our state was also provided information on the efforts undertaken to improve the water supply network in the Syrdarya region. As it was reported, 1 thousand 164 kilometers of water pipes have been laid in recent years, 57 water supply stations and other structures been built. As a result of this and forthcoming works, by 2020 it is planned to bring the level of provision of drinking water to the residents of the region to more than 88 percent.
