The modern Turkmenistan’s achievements under the leadership of Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in state building, in the socio-economic development of the country received particular emphasis.
The authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena, it was stressed, has been growing steadily. Indicative of this is the latest resolution of the UN General Assembly on the initiative of the Turkmen side on cooperation between the UN and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, as well as the sambo and track cycling world championships Turkmenistan is due to host in 2020 and 2021.
The leaders of the two countries discussed issues pertinent to bilateral ties and regional politics.
The progressive consolidation of the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership was noted with deep satisfaction.
The importance of further increasing the volume of mutual trade, bolstering cooperation in transport, energy, manufacturing industry and agriculture was emphasized.
The two Presidents supported the revitalization of the joint Intergovernmental Commission as well as the continuation of prolific business, cultural and humanitarian cooperation among border regions.
Toward the end of the telephone conversation, the heads of state reaffirmed their shared commitment to the further development of multidimensional partnership between our two nations for the good of our fraternal peoples and in the interests of sustainable development and prosperity of the entire Central Asian region.
