Today, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
At first, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkey on the bright holiday of Ramazan Hayit (Eid al Fitr) and exchanged warm wishes.
The two leaders stressed that the relations of friendship, mutual trust and strategic partnership between our countries are intensively developing and strengthening in all areas, including in the political, trade, economic and investment spheres.
It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral trade in four months of this year grew by 30 percent, while the number of joint ventures doubled over the past year and a half.
Major industrial and infrastructure projects are actively being elaborated with the participation of a number of leading Turkish companies. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding, programs are being implemented in the field of healthcare and education.
During the telephone conversation, the Presidents noted need for careful preparation for the first session of the Uzbek-Turkish High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
To this end, the parties agreed to hold, in the near future, meetings of working groups headed by foreign affairs ministers and a regular session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan also discussed pressing issues in the international and regional agenda.
