On May 31, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary – Zurab Abdushelishvili of Georgia, Daniel Rosenblum of the United States of America, and Kang Jae Kwon of the Republic of Korea.
The head of our state sincerely congratulated ambassadors on the commencement of diplomatic service in Uzbekistan and wished them every success in carrying out the honorable and responsible mission.
It was noted in particular that in recent years our country has been pursuing active foreign policy aimed at enhancing mutually advantageous relations with foreign partners.
Indicative of this is the consolidation of ties and the growing practical cooperation with the countries of Central Asia and the CIS, the leading nations of the American, Eurasian and African continents.
In addition, long-term partnerships with prominent international organizations and regional institutions have been deepening on the basis of roadmaps.
Speaking before the diplomats, the President of Uzbekistan expounded on the prospects of multifaceted cooperation with the countries represented by the newly appointed ambassadors.
Satisfaction was expressed with the contemporary dynamics of Uzbek-Georgian relations, primarily in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. In recent years, inter-parliamentary contacts have also intensified.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the importance of promoting specific projects aimed at increasing trade with Georgia, boosting the cooperation in industry, transport, logistics and tourism.
The head of our state highly appreciated the achieved level of bilateral relations of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States of America.
The historic highest-level visit to the US in May 2018 marked the dawn of a new era of strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was emphasized that today the two sides note growth in contacts and exchanges at all levels. Fruitful have been recent high-level visits to our country by delegations led by US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, congressmen Trent Kelly and Vicente Gonzalez, the Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and others.
Mutually advantageous cooperation with leading US companies and banks has been expanding, cultural and humanitarian ties strengthening, constructive dialogue developing in civil society advancement and human rights consolidation as well as on topical issues in the international and regional agenda.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with deep satisfaction the achieved level of relations of special strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea.
The state visit of South Korean President Moon Jae In to Uzbekistan last month helped bring the bilateral relations to a higher level, enriching them with new concrete substance.
The head of our state stressed that Tashkent firmly supports Seoul’s steadfast policy to bolster peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Particular attention was paid to the practical realization of the agreements reached, timely preparation and quality implementation of joint programs and projects in the field of innovation and investments, transport and communications, modernization of infrastructure, education, healthcare, culture and other areas.
In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that the newly appointed ambassadors, through their active diplomatic activities, would make decent contribution to the consolidation of friendship, partnership, and multidimensional cooperation.
