President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has left for Surkhandarya region today to attend the opening ceremony of the International Bakhshi Art Festival in Termez.
In accordance with the 1 November 2018 presidential resolution, large-scale preparations preceded the festival. Construction and landscaping works have been going on, all conveniences are created for the contestants and the festival guests. A cultural and enlightenment program was prepared containing performances of folklore and ethnographic ensembles, excursions to historical monuments, an academic conference and a great diversity of exhibitions.
The festival is to last through to April 10.
