The President has reviewed the production of goods from mountain rocks at the Marmarobod enterprise in the Nurata district.
The head of state has earlier repeatedly noted the need to study the requirements of the market and set up production of marketable goods – a key to securing the high quality of products and the sustainable activity of any enterprise. In particular, in recent years, the demand for decorative stone has grown in both domestic and foreign markets. And Nurata district is rich in large deposits of this raw material.
In accordance with directives of the President, announced during his previous trip to the Navoi region, the Marmarobod enterprise was organized. A 10 billion-soum modern production facility on 6 hectares of land was built in the steppe, and foreign-origin equipment worth 655.5 thousand dollars was installed in the venture. The enterprise is capable of processing 24 thousand square meters of granite a year. It employs 40 people. And all this is only the first stage of the project.
In the second phase, they intend to arrange the extraction and processing of natural stone in a cluster system. That would help expand the range of products, produce 3 million square meters of goods per year for 250 billion soums, and also boost up annual exports to 10 million dollars. About 1.5 thousand jobs are projected for creation here.
While looking through the products of the enterprise, the head of state pointed out their quality hardly inferior to foreign counterparts. The President of Uzbekistan called on manufacturers to reduce production costs and bring them to foreign markets through the use of efficient technologies and decreased transport expenses. Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the need for training personnel capable of deep processing decorative breeds at the level of international standards, the use of domestic-made building materials in construction works.
The President also attended a presentation of projects for the production of building materials in 2019-2020, establishment of industrial production of marble sculptures together with Chinese investors, and the development of a small town of Gazgan in Nurata district in accordance with its general plan.
Uzbekistan’s leader suggested that a railway be built here for the development of infrastructure and industry of the local areas.
