On December 27, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Heads of states exchanged warm congratulations and wishes on the upcoming New Year, as well as considered current issues of interaction and prospects for multifaceted partnership.
It was emphasized that intensive contacts at the highest level, historical visits to Ankara last fall and to Tashkent this spring brought bilateral relations to a qualitatively higher level.
Constructive cooperation in political sphere is developing, inter-parliamentary dialogue has intensified.
Trade-economic, investment and financial-technical cooperation is expanding. Exports and imports are growing at a high rate. Joint projects are being implemented on modernization of urban, transport-logistics and tourism infrastructure, creation of modern industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan with participation of leading Turkey’s companies.
Cooperation in cultural-humanitarian sphere, as well as ongoing projects in the field of education and healthcare were noted with satisfaction.
In conclusion, the Heads of states confirmed commitment to further develop and strengthen friendship and strategic partnership, expand mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
The Presidents also exchanged sincere wishes for peace, wellbeing and prosperity for fraternal people of Turkey and Uzbekistan in the New Year 2019.
