On December 27, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Heads of states exchanged warm congratulations on the upcoming New Year, as well as summed up the implementation of agreements at the highest level and development of practical cooperation.
Presidents noted that 2018 became a year of strengthening friendship and trust, good-neighborliness and partnership between fraternal countries and people.
The fruitful state visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan in April and practical results of meetings within the framework of the summit of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in Avaza in August gave a new dynamic to development of bilateral cooperation and regional interaction.
National exhibitions and business events that were successfully held in Tashkent and Ashgabat, establishment of the Business Council contributed to increasing the trade turnover and strengthening cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
The Heads of states noted the importance of promoting projects aimed at disclosing the transit potential of the region, as well as spoke in favor of continuing active interregional, cultural-humanitarian contacts.
The mutual desire for further expansion and deepening friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership was confirmed.
In conclusion, the Presidents exchanged wishes for peace, wellbeing and prosperity for the two fraternal people in 2019.
