On October 12, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Buka district of Tashkent region. Visiting the cotton field of “Valikhon ota” farm, the Head of the state became familiar with harvesting process.
At the meetings held in July this year, the President of Uzbekistan identified current tasks for intensifying activities on cotton cultivation and crops accumulation. In accordance with them, necessary agrotechnical measures were also carried out in Tashkent region. Cotton is grown on 76 thousand hectares of the region, including almost on 13 thousand hectares of Buka district. Harvesting continues on these days.
The President held a conversation here with farmers of the region and responsible officials of the agricultural sphere.
This year the weather was unfavorable for cotton. There was a shortage of water, the number of insect pests increased. Cotton has lagged behind in development.
The Head of the state noted that in agriculture, as in other industries, the interests of people are a priority, it is necessary to cultivate those crops that yield more income.
In order to have an interest, it is necessary not only to cover costs, but also to make a profit. For tomorrow to be better than today, everyone must rely on their own strength. At present time, the one who seeks and works, wins, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
This year, the cotton harvest has doubled. In particular, more than three thousand sums are paid for one kilogram of harvested cotton in Tashkent region.
It was noted that it is time for farmers to see the fruits of their work, for this it is necessary to conduct the harvest season in an organized way and harvest before the onset of inclement weather.
