On June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Head of the state sincerely congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity and success.
It was emphasized that high achievements of modern Turkmenistan and consistent increase in its international authority are the practical results of large-scale reforms and transformations under the leadership of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a policy of positive neutrality.
International initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan in the field of ensuring security and stability in the Central Asian region, development of transport corridors and energy infrastructure, in the field of rational water use, popularization of sports and other areas have been highly appreciated.
It was noted with deep satisfaction that regular contacts and meetings at the highest level contribute to strengthening the centuries-old friendship of the two fraternal people, as well as to deepening relations of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was emphasized that fruitful state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan in April this year and important arrangements and agreements reached on its results gave a new dynamic to Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan multifaceted cooperation, filling it with concrete content.
During the conversation, the prospects for cooperation in the field of trade, production cooperation, energy, development of efficient transport and transit communications, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres were considered. Views were exchanged on current issues of regional and international agenda.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm congratulations and wishes, as well as invited the Head of the state to take part in the Summit of the Heads of the founder states of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which will be held in the city of Ashgabat in August this year.
Following the conversation, the leaders of the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to further developing and strengthening strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for the benefit of the two fraternal countries and people.
