President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan got acquainted with Poi-Kalan Complex near the Ark Fortress.

Every inch of Bukhara breathes history, monuments of the past testify to the great creative genius and spiritual potential of our ancestors. Kalan minaret, Kalan mosque and Mir Arab madrassah, built between XII and XVI centuries, stand out for their unique architectural solutions and special charm.

Kalan minaret, 46.5 meters high, is a unique monument and has almost 900 years of history.

Presidents became familiar with activity of secondary special Islamic educational institution operating in Mir-Arab madrassah. In its time, this school was the only Islamic educational institution in the territory of the former Soviet Union. Currently, young people from different regions of Uzbekistan are mastering religious and secular knowledge, foreign languages at this institution.

Members of the delegation also visited the Kalan mosque - one of the largest cathedral mosques in Uzbekistan.
